Qurbani 2011 Contract Agreement

First Party (applicant) Second Party (NZ-HUT)

The first party realises and appreciates that an advance payment is required to allow the second party to:

  1. Purchase the animals as per the Islamic criteria.
  2. Sign agreement with approved Halal abattoirs in NZ.
  3. Arrange for the skin and wool processing.
  4. Identify the targeted poor and needy.
  5. Arrange for overseas shipping if applicable.
  6. Anticipate the quantities of the skin and wool that will be given to refugees, widows, disabled and distressed families.

The first party must:

  1. Pay the full Ad'ha (Qurbani) cost of $150 at the time of acception this contract.
  2. The last date of order withdrawal is 3 days before Eidul-Adha. There will be no refund for any withdrawals made after this date.
  3. Ensure the contact details provided in this contract are up to date from the time of signing until the EID Date.
  4. Authorise the second party (NZ-HUT) to carry the Ad'ha (Qurbani) on his/her behalf at an approved Halal abattoir in New Zealand.
  5. Donate in full or parts of the animal meat along with the skin and wool to the second party (NZ-HUT) to distribute among the poor and needy identified by the second party.
  6. Understand that any other initiatives undertaken by the second party (NZ-HUT) are for his/her best interests.
  7. Accept to receive monthly email update from the second party on activities of distributing the meat, skin and wool among the beneficiaries.

The second party undertakes to:

  1. Purchase on behalf of the first party animals (sheep) that meet the Islamic criteria required for Ad'ha (Qurbani).
  2. Carry the Halal Slaughtering on behalf of the first party at an approved/Certified Halal abattoir in New Zealand.
  3. To endeavour to carry the Halal Slaughtering of the Ad'ha (Qurbani) during the EID date shortly after the EID prayer.
  4. To endeavour (should the EID date fall onto weekend) to carry the Halal slaughtering during the weekend, if this is not possible then the second party will carry the Halal slaughtering on Monday and Tuesday.
  5. Provide the first party with all relevant documents that ensure the charity status of the NZ-HUT (non profit charitable entity with the NZ charities commission).
  6. Provide the first party with a dated and stamped official receipt that indicates the full and donated amount.
  7. Deliver the requested amount of meat to the first party at the address shown on this contract within the EID four days.
  8. To distribute all donated meat among the poor and needy in NZ and overseas.
  9. Claim the skin and wool, process and send to the poor and needy as per the aims and objective of the NZ-HUT.
  10. Update the NZ-HUT website with enough information of the amount of meat received as donation, the percentage of meat donated locally and overseas and who are the beneficiaries.
  11. Place on the Website details of the shipping policies of the donated meat, skin and wool.
  12. Ensure the first party that Ad'ha (Qurbani) is utilised 100% for the benefit of the poor and needy.
  13. Update the donor via emails and newsletters of where the meat, skin and wool are distributed and who are the beneficiaries.
